Not too sure if the name is a good one or not, but it just seems to fit. I have this photo from my class forever ago and figured it would probably be a good time to post it. I really hate the whole patriotic bandwagon thing, as from my view point it's been heavily over commercialized (and oh do I hate that), but I need to upload something, and now just seemed right to upload this. Feel free to let me know what you think, all comments are welcome. I love to learn my mistakes to learn from them.
Commercialization seems more obnoxious than ever. This past week I've been hearing radio advertisements saying "Forget the barbecues (etc) this weekend - come down to such-and-such car dealership (one of the big manufacturers), where you can celebrate your independence and buy a truck." It was something like that, only it sounded even worse than the way I butchered it. Freaking amazing.
America would be a really great country if there wasn't so much corruption. Just about *any* country could be great if there was no corruption.
what about those selling 911 tshirts "WE WONT FORGET".. Some ass somewhere making money off the deaths of 1000's in one of the most dreadful days this decade and beyond

So you don't realize you're in Hell.
Ugh... I'm so... blech patriotism right now. And hearing about the draft thing makes me hate this country even more. I mean, I totally wouldn't have any problem with serving this country if I agreed with half the things I'd be forced to support if drafted, but no. I'm so.. just over this whole War on Terrorism thing.. and.. just.. so stupid. I can't say much cuz I don't follow politics, but yeah. Bush should like.. fall off the face of the planet. Now. >.<

Sorry. ^ ^;
Lovely though. It looks like a frame from an old black and white television something or other. o.O And that makes it really neat! It kinda says to me that the glory we once had, the pride, is now only an illusion and that the patriotism and support the people are giving this country now are superficial... Blind.
Well, I took the photo at night to get the dark background and the effect. You could have gotten the same effect during the day, but it would have been tougher and probably a have lower contrast too. I just set my camera to a slower shutter speed with an appropriate apperature and waited for the flag to move just right. What you end up with is a blurred flag due to the motion.
Yeah, it's that same stuff that gets under my skin. The only commercialized 9/11 thing I sorta approve of was the 9/11 comics that were released because they claimed that most of the profits were going toward the effort. But still, bleh... hate it when people try to profit from the suffering of others.
Yeah, I hear you on that. I'm pretty tired of the war too. Though we did make a wreck of things, a little good came out it. Though I strongly believe that now we should spend our time and resources somewhere a little closer to home. There are still plenty of problems right here in the US that need working on.
No problem with long comments, you have some great insight. I appreciate you expressing your opinion.
Gah! Why did you have to point that out to me!? *stabs self* Now I absolutely ABHOR that title! Though I guess someone probably would have pointed it out to me eventually, and thus is my knowledge of clothing brands... or the lack there of. lol
Some people have been asking me about this stuff so I decided to gather all information in one single article on how to make your own portfolio, in a profesional and clean looking way. I hope it's useful, because these steps I myself take.
DeviantArt is full of extremely well produced artistic fashion and fine art photographs. Make up. Styling. Creation of scenery. Story. Light. Glamour. A combination of these expressions sometimes make up a great photograph. But the protagonists of these pictures are usually female.
So... now it's the time for male models to come into focus.
How to make DA work for YOU! Taking an in-depth look at how to make deviantART work for you, and getting the most out of your user experience. How to get comments, watches, your work scene, commented on, critiqued, and what you have to do. These are some of the things which I have learned since joining more than 4 1/2 years ago.
`karemelancholia is one of the most genuine deviants you could ever met. Always active and a true deviantART cheerleader and supporter in every aspect. You can always count on her to lend a hand or get involved, and you usually will find her doing large amounts of both at any given moment. She's consistently reports on contests around dA, showcases the efforts of her fellow artists and shows her charitable side through various activities. Besides all of this, she's a truly talented artist which is why she's an obvious choice for deviousness this month. Read More
